Computer skills

Proficient with Microsoft and Adobe software including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat on both PC and Mac.

Experience implementing and using web content management systems, e-mail marketing software for e-communications, Raiser’s Edge fund raising and donor management software, online donation software, online survey tools, Google Analytics, basic HTML.

Manages social networking efforts and online PPC ad campaigns on Facebook and Google Grants.

Awards

Inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta International Business Honor Society on June 18, 2011 by Marylhurst University, where Emily will earn a MBA degree in August 2011.

Won two silver awards for the OSU Summer Session 2008 e-newsletter and a media release on the Spanish-language Phytophthora training course for nursery growers from the 2009 University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) Marketing and Publications Awards.  View announcement.

During tenure as editor, Southern Oregon University’s student newspaper “The Siskiyou” won Oregon Newspaper Publisher Association awards in categories such as “General Excellence” and “Best Design.”

Named “Outstanding Senior” by the Southern Oregon University Communication Department in June 2007.

Professional development

Member of the Public Relations Society of America Portland Metro Chapter.

Past member of the American Marketing Association Oregon Chapter’s Community Outreach Program, working on strategic marketing for the Black United Fund of Oregon, a local nonprofit organization.

Accepted to present on Facebook marketing, fan pages, and ad campaigns at the annual WASSA (Western Association of Summer Session Administrators) conference in September 2009.

Guest speaker and event representative for both Albertina Kerr and OSU online degrees and programs.

Additional training courses in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Attended workshops and seminars on social media marketing and strategies, media relations pitching, mobile giving and search engine PPC marketing presented by PRSA Portland and SEMpdx.

Attended SEMpdx’s SearchFest in March 2010 and February 2011.

Attended workshop in Pachyderm, a web-based multimedia authoring tool.

Attended workshop on “From 18-80: Thriving in the Multi-Generational Workplace” presented by David Remson.

Attended 2008 University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) Marketing Conference in San Diego, CA.
